流金岁月Carole King《You ve Got A Friend》触动我心灵
Carole King早在50年代末已經創作歌曲﹐她與Gerry Goffin (後來成為她首任丈夫) 及Neil Sedaka 等在60年代隸屬同一間音樂創作公司旗下﹐而Carole 及Gerry 這對夫妻組合更在60年代創作過百首熱門歌曲。Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow 便是他倆合作的第一首冠軍歌﹐由四人女子組合 Shirelles 主唱。而Neil Sedaka 也曾為她著迷而寫了Oh Carol﹐成為1959年一首熱門流行歌曲。Carole 雖寫下無數賣錢歌曲﹐但是總是為別人作嫁衣﹐而自己的個人專輯總是沒得到樂迷的注意。70年代初與民歌手James Taylor成為好友﹐經他鼓勵﹐再度推出個人專輯“Writer” ﹐無奈成績仍是強差人意﹐不過翌年當她推出“Tapestry” 專輯時﹐卻深受歡迎﹐該專輯甚至停留在流行榜中達6年之久﹐而且對後來多位樂壇巨星在音樂上都有深遠的影響。1995年Rod Stewart﹑Amy Grant﹑Aretha Franklin﹑Faith Hill﹑Bee Gees﹑Celine Dion 等便重唱“ Tapestry”專輯內的歌曲﹐推出“Tapestry Revisited: A Tribute to Carole King ” 合輯向她作出致敬。1998年﹐她為Tom Hanks與 Meg Ryan主演的電影 You’ve Got Mail創作 Anyone At All一曲仍深具魅力。
